Just like children play cops and robbers or cowboys and Indians when they are small, imitating the activities of the grownups, similarly, this play spills over or rather continues right into their adult life. Karmis pattern their lives after their parents, friends, society, emulating role models like Clint Eastwood or other characters, fictitious or real; whereas the devotees act out their parts under the direction of the Acharya, and become immersed in the transcendental pastimes of the Supreme Personality of Godhead and the great devotees. It’s all a play act, but one is orchestrated by Maya and the other by Krishna. The same activity; we need only to shift our focus to Krishna, make Krishna the center of everything we do.
