In his final hours, Srila Prabhupada called for Hansadutta to sing kirtan by his bedside. Hansadutta sang for hours straight, sometimes accompanied by others in the room.
Some years ago, Bhaktivedanta Archives released video footage of Srila Prabhupada’s passing in a DVD entitled “The Final Lesson”. At 03:23, Hansadutta can be heard and seen leading Harinam Sankirtan, playing mrdanga, winding through the streets of Vrindaban, with Srila Prabhupada being carred on a palanquin. This is one of the last, if not the last, parikrama with Srila Prabhupada while he was still alive. The video footage shows some part of the bedside vigil, and starting at 14:42 Hansadutta can be heard and seen leading the devotees to sing Gurupuja.
