RE: PREDICTION OF EARTHQUAKE
Date: 9 Oct. 05
ALL GLORIES
TO SHRI GURU AND SHRI GAURANGA!
My dear
Hansadutta Prabhuji,
Please accept my humble obeisances. Eternal glory and praise for Shrila
Prabhupada, the direct energy of Lord Shri Krishna. Many thanks for
visiting me on the fifth of this month and I enjoyed, as ever,
discussing Krishna consciousness with you from so many points of view.
This is what Shrila Prabhupada wanted, sadhu-sangha and
discussion of the glories of Krishna and His devotees such as the
activities of our pure devotee spiritual master. I know that it is a
long trip for you to visit me, and I deeply appreciate it. I must
tolerate so many materialistic karmis each day...and a
devotee's company is a rare blessing indeed.
When you
came last, we discussed Vedic astrology and I made a prediction that
came true in the few days following our last meeting. I predicted that
a terrible event such as an earthquake would be soon taking place in
the territory of "Old Bharat", an area of the Earth ruled by Virgo from
Eastern Iran to Indonesia, including Pakistan, Afghanistan, India,
Bangladesh, Burma, Nepal, Thailand, Cambodia, etc. Two days after the
prediction at our meeting Pakistan suffered its worst earthquake ever,
a 7.6er centered in the nation's capital, Islamabad. In fact, this was
that country's worst disaster ever, and the early death toll counted
over 20,000 souls had been dispatched to Yamaraj. The prediction was
based upon my research establishing that Virgo rules "Old Bharat" and
that an eclipse in Virgo had occurred on the 2nd.
It is very
tempting to self-aggrandize oneself in such a situation--that is, after
making such a remarkably accurate prediction--but the fact is that
credit must go to the science of Krishna-conscious astrology. If such a
Krishna-conscious, no, Guru-conscious, science is understood as simply
another Vedic science of the Bhagavat, then accurate
predictions will be a foregone conclusion. The major influences of
astrology are discussed in the leading edge scriptures of the Veda
such as the holy Shrimad Bhagavatam Mahapurana, which
Shrila Prabhupada spent every valuable breath making us understand, and
the Ramayana, Padma Purana
, etc. Therein, heavenly omens such as eclipses, comets and meteor
showers, are given greater importance than mere planetary combinations (graha-yogas).
Read the descriptions of Lord Rama entering the field of battle in the
Ramayana, or Lord Varaha killing the incarnation Vijai, Hiranyaksha.
Whereas eclipses foreshadowing the great battles are discussed,
astrological combinations are not dealt with. These have already been
dilated upon by no less a personality than Shri Parahsara Muni, the
father of Shrila Vyasadeva Ji, the lliterary incarnation of God, in his
Shri Parahsara Hora-Shastra, hence Sage
Parashara is called the "father of astrology".
Some months
back I gave you, Hansadutta Prabhuji, a copy of the Palani
Panchang, which I helped Pandit Devendra Trivedi develop some
twenty years ago, and have continued to write for over the years. I
have always saluted your understanding of Vedanga Jyotish since
it is based soley upon Shrila Prabhupada's teachings, and not some
bogus, misleading so-called "astrologer" claiming brahman
roots. So because you consult the stars in the panchang from
time to time, you are quite aware when these major phenomenons are to
take place, as well as changing nakshatras, tithis,
solar and lunar months, etc.
When we met
on the 6th of this month, you brought up the fact that we were in a
period of time I have come to I call as the "abyss of two eclipses",
the centerpoint that bisects two celestial events. Nervousness could be
felt in the air, and it was so intense that it could have been cut with
a knife. Before our last meeting, there had been an eclipse on the 2nd
of October, a solar event in Virgo. This is a particularly inauspicious
sign for an solar eclipse, since it is the sign preceding the Sun's
debility in Libra. The solar eclipse "began" over Indonesia, and just a
few days before it took place, a terrorist's bomb blast took the lives
of dozens of tourists in Bali. Eclipse effects will be more strongly
felt in places where they are visible and in those places that are
ruled by the signs in which the phenomenon occur. I have concluded that
a period of 45 days preceding and following eclipses are periods of EFI
or "eclipse field of influence."
The Moon is
waxing beautifully in the sky just now as I write, but it is a cursed
cycle nonetheless, since the waxing Moon will culminate in an eclipsed
full Moon in Pisces on the 17th of this month. In fact, the Moon will
shift into the fiery, violent, Mars-ruled sign of Aries during the
eclipse itself, a particularly unhappy augury. So this October eclipse
cycle involves Virgo (earth), Pisces (water) and Aries (fire). Note
that America, too, suffered a double whammy of "worst natural disasters
ever" with the ravages of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita over the Gulf
Coastal states. The earthquake in Pakistan occured during the rainy
season, hence the mix of earth and water there also is obvious.
Similarly, the mix of earth and water is seen as the Ocean God
reclaimed its lands from inhabitants of outlying lands around New
Orleans. Finally, rains caused by Hurricane Stan created the mud slide
in Guatamela, which had been foreshadowed by the springing to life of
an ancient volcano there (fire) in the first days of October.
I have
proposed that eclipses be assigned names like comets and hurricanes,
with masculine names going to the Solar events and lunar events being
dubbed with feminine names. I have named the October 2nd eclipse of the
sun as Eclipse Elmo and the lunar event of the 17th as Eclipse Eleanor.
From a astronomical point of view, they were certainly not the longest,
darkest events to ever blight the sky, but apparently their influences
were nonetheless as devastating as any eclipse could be. The point of
intesection between Elmo and Eleanor occurred on Sun the 9th as the
headlines blared "Twenty Thousand Dead In Pakistan" and "Landslide in
Guatamala buries an Entire Village of 1400". And the foolish, smug,
demonic material scientists think that--in defiance of ancient wisdom
of all cultures of the Earth--that eclipses can bear no effect!
Based upon
my research, the following coming dates (give or take a few days) are
delicate and might be crucial: 17 Oct, 2 Nov and 17 Nov. Eclipse cycles
tend to end with a bang, that is dramatically. My body of research on
eclipses will appear in book form sometime in November or December, and
I welcome inquiries from serious students. My experience is that most
astrologers simply use the science in a vainglorious attempt at
self-glorification and thus diminish any iota of hope for developing
genuine predictive skill. They band together like bleating goats in
clubs and councils, but no accurate prediction (other than the expected
and usual New Age sentimental, soppy mish-mash) emanates from the mix.
Therefore, I
have undertaken my research in a thoroughly independent spirit, fully
dependent upon Shri Guru's divine grace, and stand solely responsible
for the outcome. I hope that this has met you in the best of health.
Your servant,
Shri Patita Pavana das Adhikary
