Evacuation from Hell

Free Europe Radio Liberty, Wednesday, July 19, 2006 - Mass Evacuation From Lebanon Continues
PRAGUE, July 19, 2006 (RFE/RL) -- As Israeli missiles and
bombs continue to hit Lebanon, tens of thousands of people are fleeing
to neighboring Syria and Cyprus.
The United States, Britain, and others are using naval ships to
facilitate the evacuation to the island nation. At the Syrian border,
customs procedures have been eased to help the thousands of refugees.
In Damascus, university dormitories, hotels, mosques, and churches are
opening their doors.
The
Krishna consciousness movement is meant to help transfer souls out of
this material atmosphere into the spiritual atmosphere, where life is
eternal, full of knowledge and full of pleasure. The means for this
transfer is kirtan: Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare
Hare/ Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare.
This sound vibration is not material, but comes down from the spiritual
world like radio waves in the sky, and if we have a receiver, we shall
be able to catch them and make them manifest. The transcendental sound
vibration of the Lord is coming down from the spiritual sky, and as
soon as we come in contact with it, we come in contact with Krishna. as
soon as we chant Hare Krishna, we are elevated to the spiritual
platform, and all mental, intellectual and sensual problems are
immediately solved, because on the spiritual platform there is no
birth, death, old age or disease.
The soul is unaffected by these changes; only our absorption in the
bodily identity causes us to feel happiness and distress arising from
bodily changes. A sleeping man creates mental bodies in his dreams. He
may see his head being chopped off, or himself falling from a bridge,
or himself embracing a beautiful woman. Sometimes the sleeping man even
discharges semen, although there is no beautiful woman—he is simply
dreaming. While sleeping, a dream causes us happiness and distress,
although the dream has no substantial reality. Similarly, in this
material condition, or bodily concept of life, we are dreaming, "I am
this body; this is my wife; these are my children; these are my
friends; these are my countrymen; this is my house; this is my bank
balance." However, this lifetime has no substantial reality, no
permanent existence. It is temporary, compared to a child's sand
castle. With the rising of the tide, his work is washed away. We cannot
keep back the ocean. Sometimes children try to restrain the water, but
it comes closer every minute. The tide of time dissolves
everything—whatever and whomever we see here today. In time—either
today, tomorrow or after a hundred years—we shall cease to exist. The
body will be dissolved into ashes or earth and vanish, but within the
body there is the soul.
"That
which pervades the entire body is indestructible. No one is able to
destroy the imperishable soul."—Bhagavad-gita 2.17
The
essence of Krishna consciousness is this transcendental sound
vibration: Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare/ Hare
Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare.
Chant Hare Krishna and experience this transcendental sound vibration.
Get in touch with Krishna and be Krishna conscious. Be happy. Everyone
should be happy. No one can be happy without Krishna, because everyone
is part and parcel of Krishna. As my hand is part of this body,
similarly, the soul is part of Krishna. By vibrating the name of
Krishna, we immediately come in touch with Krishna. If we touch an
electric wire, we touch the powerhouse. The powerhouse may be one
thousand miles away, but if we touch the live wire, we'll be touching
the powerhouse. We hear our friend on the telephone from London through
sound vibration. Although he is in London and we are in Seattle, we
communicate by sound, and thus we are together. We can pick up
vibrations from a radio station even without wires on our receiver.
These things are possible on the material platform. On the spiritual
platform they are perfectly applicable. There is no barrier for the
soul. Transcendental means no time, no space. Everything is possible on
the spiritual platform. To chant Hare Krishna means to be in contact
with Krishna, and as soon as we contact Krishna, all our
problems—mental, sensual and intellectual—will be solved immediately,
and we shall become free from all anxieties. One who is Krishna
conscious never laments anything; nor does he desire to have anything.
If we want to be actually free, independent and joyful, we must become
Krishna conscious.
